Business Affairs is responsible for overseeing all EMI's legal and commercial matters. This includes the negotiation of exclusive recording agreements, license agreements, new media (including digital download) agreements, producer agreements, mixer agreements, video agreements, musician agreements, demo agreements, joint venture agreements, live performance releases and soundtrack agreements. The department is also actively involved in the Australian record industry's anti piracy litigation. The Business Affairs Department works closely with the A&R Department, as well as with artist management and their respective lawyers.
